We invite you to experience one of your life's most exciting adventures, as you cruise through the wetlands of the Yum Balam Biosphere searching for giant crocodiles. This is not a farm, they live here in the wild. You will get to see and even likely help capture these magnificent creatures as part of an ongoing crocodile research project.

From our boats you will feel the thrill and the emotion of participating in a crocodile research project, working with two to nine-foot long wild crocodiles. The adventure of a lifetime!

You will be picked up from your Cancun Hotel at approximately 1:30 PM and go approximately 3 hours north to the Yum Balam Biosphere. Yum Balam is located on the Caribbean Coast of Mexico, and includes Isla Holbox on the northern tip of the Yucatan peninsula north of Cancun.

Yum Balam

It is one of the largest protected areas in the Mexican Caribbean at over 380,000 acres, and is a UNESCO world heritage site. Here you will board our boats, and embark on your adventure! This trip is coordinated by the official agency in charge of crocodile research and conservation in the Yum Balam preserve.

Itinerary: (Approximate, Subject to Change)

1:30 PM - Pick-up from your Cancun Hotel
4:30 PM - Briefing about Yum Balam and the two Crocodile Species living here.
5:00 PM - Boat Trip to Find and (Probably) Catch and Measure Crocodiles
8:00 PM - Snacks
8:30 PM - Depart Yum Balam and Return to Cancun
12:00 AM - Drop-off at your Cancun Hotel

Tour Schedule: Mondays from 1:30 PM to 12:00 AM

Duration: Approximately 10.5 hours including transportation.
