Dzibanche is the largest and most important Mayan Ruins site in all of southern Mexico. Much less visited than either Chacchoben or Kohunlich due to it's distance from the Costa Maya cruise port and village of Majahual (about 2 hours each way), it is an impressive site. Once you reach Dzibanche, your expert Mayan Ruins tour guide will enlighten you to it's wondrous history, dating back over 1,700 years. You can climb most of the temples here, giving you outstanding 360° views over the area, which makes for some great photos! After completing our tour of Dzibanche, we will visit perhaps the most majestic temple of them all, mighty Kinichna Acropolis. Kinichna is really part of the massive 40 sq. km. metropolitan area of Dzibanche, though it is located several miles from the rest of the city. |

At Kinichna, you can climb the spectacular Acropolis, stretching over three levels, each from a different era of history. At the top, you will see the spot where two people were buried with some of the most spectacular Mayan jade ever found.
