Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Do you get to swim with the horses or take them into the water?
A:  No.  In an effort to preserve the delicate marine ecosystem, no ranch in the Riviera Maya is allowed to take the horses into the water.  They used to be able to, but the law has since changed to protect the coral reefs and marine life.

Q: I'm on a cruise ship - can I do these tours?
A:  Yes!  Punta Venado is very close to the Calica cruise pier.  Taxis are readily available at the pier when you arrive and are inexpensive.

Q: Can I ride on the Beach?
A: Yes!  All of these tours include riding on Playa del Carmen's beautiful beaches (Paradise rides onto the beach, but not down it).

Q: This is my first time riding a horse, can I do these tours?
A:  Yes!  These are tourist class rides - most people that do them have never ridden, or only a few times.

Q: Is their a weight limit for these horseback riding tours?
A: Yes.  220 lbs for Loma Bonita and 240 lbs for Punta Venado.  Paradise is 265 lbs.

Q: Do you pick up at my hotel?
A:  Yes!  All these horseback riding tours include hotel pick-up and drop-off except for downtown and Playacar hotels which may meet at Plaza Playacar or another convenient location.
