Explore a hidden underground world, once sacred to the Mayas who inhabited this area for centuries, given the powerful name Chaak Tun, after Chaak, the Mayan god of rain. Literally it means Chaak's Rain of Stone, and with your first footsteps you'll understand why.

Over the millenia, the crystal-clear fresh waters of these underground rivers have carved these formations out of the limestone, creating a dazzling effect. It's not only above the water's surface either, as you'll experience on your snorkeling tour through the caverns.
