SWIM WITH DOLPHINS AT XEL-HANow during your stay at Xel-Ha, one of the premier attractions in the entire Caribbean, you can experience a wonder of life you'll never forget - you can swim with dolphins! You get to interact with them in the lagoon (not a pool or an aquarium), as they kiss you, snuggle with you, do aerial acrobatics for you, and finish off with an exhilarating footpush that will lift you out of the water. Awesome!
OUR RECOMMENDATIONSYou can Swim With Dolphins at Xel-Ha whether you're on a tour, or if you are visiting on your own in a rental car. This is an experience not to be missed. We recommend swimming with the dolphins at Xel-Ha only if you want to enjoy the entire day here, as the all-inclusive entry fees are expensive. The dolphin swim here is wonderful, but not more so than any of the other wonderful places around Cancun and the Riviera. Plan to do your dolphin swim at the location that you most want to see, whether it's Xel-Ha, Xcaret, Isla Mujeres, Cozumel, or just in Cancun proper - don't worry about where you do it - they're all great fun. The exception, of course, is the Delphinus Trek, which is only available at Xel Ha. IMPORTANT: It is very important to reserve your Xel-Ha dolphin swim online before you leave for Cancun. This is a hugely popular activity, and especially in high season, if you wait until you get to Xel-Ha and try to sign up, you will almost certainly not get to swim with the dolphins. We offer you several choices above. HOW TO GET TO XEL-HA:Xel-Ha is located 76 miles (122km) south of Cancun, just 8 miles (13km) from the Mayan Ruins of Tulum on the east side of the Carraterra Chetumal. The close proximity makes this an easy combination to visit in a single day. The vast majority of visitors to Xel-Ha go with a tour. This is by far the easiest and most convenient way to get there - it even includes hotel pickup and drop-off. For the independent traveler, you can also rent a car, take a taxi, or catch a collectivo from Cancun. The Collectivo will let you off the highway by the Xel-Ha sign. Taking a taxi from Playa Del Carmen will set you back about $30 each way, from Cancun will cost more like $75 each way. The collectivo will cost just a few dollars but of course is by far the least convenient method of transport. IMPORTANT: Save time by Booking Your Park Entrance Online. XEL-HA PARK HOURS:9:00AM to 5:30PM - 7 Days a Week IMPORTANT: Xel Ha will not allow you to bring your regular sunblock into the park, as part of the ongoing effort to protect the environment. It will be confiscated at the gate unless it is biodegradable. See Biodegradable Sunscreen. Click on the links at left to explore our large selection of other Cancun Tours and Activities.
