We now offer a very special opportunity to visit two very unique and incredible Mayan ruins sites in one great tour.  Head north of Cancun into the Yucatan, where the once-great Mayan empire once thrived.  We'll start out with a visit to Ek Balam, a seldom-visited but great place. Ek Balam dates back as early as 100 B.C. and continued to prosper until its decline in about 1200 A.D.  Excavation of Ek Balam only began about 1987, so this is a very new site that is still being uncovered today.  Its biggest temple is called the Acropolis.

The Acropolis stands an impressive 100 feet high and is over 500 feet long.  Climb to the top and witness staggering views of the Yucatan, all the way to Coba.  After lunch, we'll make our way to the newest Wonder of the World, Chichen Itza.

Chichen Itza is the most famous and most impressive Mayan ruins site in the Cancun area.  Chichen Itza dates back about 1500 years, and is amazingly well preserved.  A UNESCO World Heritage Site, first time visitors to Cancun won't want to miss it.  After Chichen Itza, we'll visit a refreshing cenote where we can swim and cool off after a long day of exploring.

Schedule:  Thursdays only at 8:00 AM.   Exact hotel pick-up time will be specified on your tour voucher, but is between 7:00 AM and 7:55 AM.  Return to Cancun is about 7:30 PM.

8:00 AM to 10:30 AM - Drive to Ek Balam
10:30 AM to 1:00 PM - Tour of Ek Balam
1:00 PM to 2:00 PM - Lunch
2:00 PM to 5:00 PM - Tour of Chichen Itza
5;00 PM to 8:00 PM - Drive back to Cancun, Hotel Drop-offs

Duration:  Approximately 12 hours.
