Chichen Itza

Chichen Itza Ruins

Your expert bilingual guide will explain the astronomical prowess and mathematical genius of the ancient Mayas, and give you a peek into the world that existed here at Chichen Itza, describing the history and architecture of the ruins.  After the guided tour, you can even swim in a cenote!  Back on board the bus, you'll again recline in style as your tour host serves you beverages.

  • Camera - This goes without saying.

  • Pocket money - There are a variety of shops in Valladoid and in Chichen Itza - you may wish to buy something.

  • Suncreen - A must.  Temperatures at Chichen Itza top 90°F most days, and there is little shade.

  • Guidebook - Your guide is very good, but when you have time on your own, you may wish to refresh your memory about the temples. You may also wish to read about the Mayan Ruins or Valladoid on the bus trip.
