Multimedia: Our Recommendations Xcaret is awesome for families and couples alike. There is so much to do here. We recommend it for anyone visiting Playa del Carmen. Lots of things for kids to do, and tons of things for adults too. A unique introduction to the Mayan world. Xcaret Tour - The cheapest way to get to Xcaret if you don't have your own transportation. Includes hotel pick-up and drop-off, hassle-free. We recommend Xcaret Plus if you plan to eat at one of the buffet restaurants - it's a better deal. Xcaret Plus - Adds a buffet lunch, drinks, snorkeling equipment, towels, and lockers to the basic tour. We recommend this for anyone who wants to have a buffet lunch instead of something like hamburgers from the snack bar because the buffet restaurants inside the park are very expensive, about $29.00 per person. Private Xcaret - The fastest and most convenient way to get to Xcaret, with the most flexibility. Best for groups of 6 or more, as the price drops the more people you have. Xcaret & Tulum - For people who also want to see Tulum Mayan Ruins. The only tour in Playa del Carmen to combine these two attractions. Once at Xcaret, you'll want to spend all day, so you may consider doing the two on different days to give you more time at Xcaret. Swim With Dolphins - We recommend swimming with the dolphins on a separate day if you have the time, as you'll want to spend as much time as possible enjoying Xcaret. However, if you don't really have the time to spend another day doing dolphins, then this is a wonderful activity. This is also the only place in Playa del Carmen you can swim with baby dolphins between 10 mo. and 2 years old. Make sure to reserve dolphins in advance or you will be disappointed. Xcaret Entrance Only - Recommended if you have a rental car or if you want to take a taxi. Best for groups of 1-3 people, as that is how many people can fit in a taxi cab. Keep in mind though that taxis aren't usually air-conditioned, and child seats are not available. Also take into consideration whether you'll be wanting to drink alcohol during the day - enforcement of drinking and driving laws is strict. Xcaret at Night! - We do recommend staying for the Night Show. It's fun for the whole family, and it is free with your entrance ticket.
