This Chichen Itza tour aims to please.  After complimentary pickup from your Riviera Maya hotel in an air-conditioned motorcoach or van, you'll be transported back in time to the lost civilization of the Mayas, and one of their primary cities, Chichen-Itza. After a short stop for facilities, the next stop is the Mayaland Hotel, where you'll be treated to a delicious buffet lunch while watching traditional folkloric music and dancing.  Included with your lunch are 2 drinks (beer, soft drinks or water).

The facilities at the Mayaland, which is adjacent to the ruins site, are open for your use all day long. You are welcome to use their swimming pool, hammocks and other facilities such as restrooms, towels and changing rooms.  You can also use their private entrance to the ruins, so you can come and go as you please if you'd like to explore outside the ruins site.

After lunch, you'll embark on a guided tour of the Chichen Itza archaeological site, while your expert guide enlightens you to the mystical world of the Maya.  After the tour is over, you will have free time to explore and take pictures, as well as use the facilities at the hotel.

Itinerary: Daily departures are approximately 7:45 AM from your hotel's main door.  Exact pickup time is determined at the time of reservation.

If you are coming from Cozumel, you can meet the tour at Plaza Playacar, a block from the Playa del Carmen ferry terminal.

Duration: Approximately 11 Hours.

We Recommend You Bring:

• Suncreen - A must.  Temperatures at Chichen Itza top 90°F most days, and there is little shade.  See our Biodegradable Sunscreen.

• Camera - This goes without saying.

• Pocket money - There are a variety of shops in and around Chichen Itza - you may wish to buy something.

• Hat - You'll want some type of hat to protect you from the sun.

• Guidebook - Your guide is very good, but when you have time on your own, you may wish to refresh your memory about the temples. You may also wish to read about the Mayan Ruins on the bus trip.

• Swimsuit - If you want to swim at Ik Kil or the Mayaland Hotel.
