Get ready to embark on a Mayan Ruins expedition to the legendary lost city of Chichen Itza!  This tour picks you up from your Riviera Maya hotel, and takes you to Chichen Itza, where you will enjoy a delicious buffet lunch at the famous Mayaland hotel, with entertainment from traditional folkloric dancers and singers. After lunch, you will embark on a guided tour of the Chichen Itza archaeological site, with your government certified English-speaking guide.  You will be amazed at the stories and the architectural prowess of the ancient Mayans.

Once the guided portion of the tour is over, you will have free time to explore the ruins and take photographs, or you can opt to check in to your room at the Mayaland Hotel, ranked by Conde Nast traveler as the # 1 hotel in Cancun and the Riviera Maya in 2003, and as one of the top 100 hotels in the world.  This tour is a really great deal.  Normal Price for a bungalow at the Mayaland Hotel ONLY is $170.00 per night. 

The Mayaland sits adjacent to the ruins site, within easy walking distance to the ruins.  At the hotel, enjoy the swimming pool, bar, restaurant, and more.  That evening, you can enjoy the Chichen Itza Light & Sound Spectacular, and then in the morning, we recommend you rise early and see the ruins at their most mystical - at dawn.  Long before the crowds have arrived, you'll have the run of the place, it's really amazing.  You'll have the whole day to do as you please, before returning to the Riviera Maya at about 4:00 PM the next day.

We Recommend You Bring:

• Guidebook - Your guide is very good, but when you have time on your own, you may wish to refresh your memory about the temples. You may also wish to read about the Mayan Ruins on the bus trip.

• Overnight Bag

• Suncreen - A must.  Temperatures at Chichen Itza top 90°F most days, and there is little shade.  See our Biodegradable Sunscreen.

• Pocket money - There are a variety of shops in and around Chichen Itza - you may wish to buy something.

• Hat - You'll want some type of hat to protect you from the sun.
