A small, intimate group tour of the Mayan Empire, this excursion takes an in-depth look at Chichen Itza and the colonial town of Valladolid.  Visit an ancient Franciscan monastery, enjoy lunch at one of the area's finest restaurants, swim in a magnificent Mayan underwater grotto, and develop your own appreciation for this great people. With just your guide and a small group of six or so people, this adventure takes on a whole new flavor.  More personal attention, more customization to your interests, and of course an opportunity to interact with your guide and the others on your tour. Depart from Playa del Carmen to the magnificent Mayan ruins site of Chichen Itza, where your expert guide will share the wonders of this fascinating place with you.  After lunch at a great Yucatekan restaurant, we'll explore Valladolid, including the San Bernardino monastery, and free time on your own to see the charming town square, church, and look in the local shops.  Top off the day with a refreshing swim in the crystal clear waters of  Samula Cenote.  A truly eye-opening way to experience the Mayan empire!

Cruise Passengers:  This tour is not compatible with most cruise schedules.  We suggest visiting Tulum or Coba instead.

Itinerary:  This Tour Runs on Mondays and Thursdays Only.  Private Tours are available every day but Sunday. Exact pickup time is determined at the time of reservation, and depends on the time of year.

 

Departs:  Hotel pick-up in Playa del Carmen (and south to Akumal) is available for $10.00 per person, payable in cash on the day of the tour.  Pick-up is not available for hotels north of Playa del Carmen.  You can choose to meet the tour at Plaza Playacar in Playa del Carmen if you are staying north of town, or if you are coming from Cozumel.
