Approximate Itinerary:
7:45 AM - After hotel pickup, we depart for Rio Lagartos
9:00 AM - We'll make a pit stop for restrooms, coffee, and snacks.
11:00 AM - Arrive at the colonial Mayan Village of Tizimin, where we'll tour the town square, market and it's fine cathedral. You'll have a chance to see how the local Mayans live today, and experience their history and culture.
12:30 PM - Delicious Mayan lunch in the small pueblo of Rio Lagartos.
1:30 PM - Take a boat trip through the mangrove-lined waterways of Rio Lagartos, spotting exotic species of birds and other wildlife. Pelicans, flamingos, crocodiles, ibis, cranes, and many other species may be seen.
4:00 PM - Take a bano Maya, a traditional Mayan bath in the natural salt springs, followed by a therapeutic mud bath that will leave your body cleansed and pure. Local Mayans have been performing this cleansing ritual for centuries.
4:30 PM - Depart for Playa del Carmen
7:30 PM - Drop-off at your hotel.
