This combo excursion is available for cruise ship passengers as a shore excursion, so you can enjoy the ruins and be back on time to board your cruise.  Our private driver will meet you on the ferry pier in Playa del Carmen, he will take you to Tulum Mayan Ruins, the walled city, built on the edge of the sea cliffs.

After your exploration adventure it's time to visit the tranquil Yal-Ku Lagoon in Akumal, home to some of the best shore snorkeling in the Riviera Maya. Swim in calm waters, which makes it a great snorkeling location.  Here you'll spot sea turtles, eagle rays, and more!

Tour Schedule:  Daily on your schedule.

Departure:  Meet at the ferry terminal in Playa del Carmen.  You will need to take the passenger ferry over from Cozumel on your own to meet this tour, but then your driver will be there to meet you right on the other side.  See Ferry Information.
 
Duration:  6 Hours Approximately.  You don't have to stay the full 6 hours if you are pressed for time.  We'll get you back in time.

Notes:  

  • You can explore Tulum on your own without a guide, but if you want to hire a private guide, your driver will show you where to go to hire one, you can find them at the Tulum entrance gate for around $35.00 for up to 5 people. Larger groups add approximately $2.00 per person.

  • If you plan to use a video camera inside Tulum, you will need to pay a $3.50 USD government video tax.

  • Snorkeling Equipment is available for rent at Yal-Ku Lagoon for about $5.00 per piece, if you don't have any.

Kids:  All ages welcome.  Kids are the same price as adults.

There was a mixup with our start time. We were supposed to start at 8am, but our driver was told 9am. So...we had a delayed start. Outside of that, our tour was excellent. Our driver was very laid back and allowed us all of the time we needed at each of our destinations. Thank you!

We booked a private van through Playa del Carmen Tours to take us from our resort to the ruins in Tulum and then to Yal-Ku Lagoon for snorkeling. The driver picked us up just as scheduled and helped us get an excellent guide in Tulum. He was right at the appointed location at the specefied time when we finished at Tulum and it was the same at Yal-Ku Lagoon. It was an excellent experience! His efficiency and professionalism allowed us to do both of these interesting and fun activities and be back to our resort by 1:00 p.m. which is what we had asked.

We booked for a private Cobe and Tulum tour and were super happy with the service we received! What made the excursion exceptional though, was the amazing driver/guide we had, George Leon. We were a party of three, my wife, myself and our teenage son; George was engaging with each of us and shared a wealth of stories, knowledge and information we all took something meaningful away from.
